Abstract
With this project, I wanted to find a way to combine multiple of my interests and passions. Those being entomology, psychological research, and tattoo design. By doing this, I hoped to create unique tattoo designs based on different phobias while learning more about them in the process. The methods I used during this project were using reliable medical sources for the research portion, using Adobe Photoshop to create multiple mood boards, and drawing/designing each piece in Procreate. The results of this project are multiple unique tattoo designs based on trypophobia(the fear of clusters or groups of holes), thanatophobia(the fear of death or the dying process), and arachnophobia(the fear of spiders). Over the course of this project, I have grown my research skills and gained a better understanding of my technical abilities regarding tattoo design. Not only that, but I have learned my limits and have pushed beyond them within this project. For future research, I do foresee myself continuing with the subject matter of “phobia-inspired insect tattoos.”
