Abstract
UD Envision is a 10-week summer undergraduate research program sponsored by the USDA, NIFA REEU Award # 2020-67037-31077, and held in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, CANR, where students are immersed in research projects in on-campus laboratories, field locations and other facilities gaining skills and experience to confidently envision themselves in their future careers. Students are being mentored by faculty in all four departments of CANR: Animal & Food Sciences, Plant & Soil Sciences, Entomology & Wildlife Ecology and Applied Economics and Statistics. Other than on-site training in specialized areas, students also receive videography, lab safety, and presentation development training. These more interpersonal skills, as well as each student’s self-made research video, are utilized at the Delaware state fair and as part of students’ resumes. These research videos are based on each student’s independent project within their lab. The summer 2025 was the final year of funding for this grant and hosted the largest cohort to date of 29 participants.
